Question:
What does it mean to Bypass a Zone?

Answer:
Bypassing a Zone means that a opening or group of openings remain unarmed.

Question:
Can I switch my service to Sovereign Security?

Answer:
Yes, however, if you have an existing monitoring agreement with another company, you must wait until it expires. Once you are free from your contracted obligation, contact us, to begin receivving Supreme Service.

Question:
If I loose power, will my system still work?

Answer:
Yes, in the event of power loss your system will automatically switch to a backup battery power source. This battery will also automatically recharge once the power comes back on.

Question:
How do the panic buttons work on the system?

Answer:
In the event a panic button is triggered from the security keypad, an alarm is sent to Sovereign's Monitoring Center. Sovereign Security then dispatches the fire, police or paramedics to your location.

Question:
Why should I add monitored fire protection?

Answer:
Home builder installed smoke detectors only provide an audible alert. Monitored smoke detectors provide both an audible alarm and send a signal to Sovereign Security prompting a dispatch of the fire department.

Question:
Do I need to test my alarm system?

Answer:
Yes. It is your responsibility to make sure that your system is in good working order. Sovereign Security regularly initiates a communications performance test. It's easy to test your system; just refer to your user manual or call Sovereign Security and follow the simple instructions. If you find that a part of your system is not working properly, call Sovereign Security at 972.867.9059 to request repair service.

Question:
What should I do in case of emergency?

Answer:
In the event of a police emergency- press the police panic button on the security keypad. This will cause your alarm sirent to sound and the police will immediately be dispatched to your home. In the event of a fire emergency press the fire panic button on the security keypad. The fire department will immediately be dispatched and you will be called by phone to assess the fire situation, relaying details to the authorities who are on the way.

Question:
Do I need a working phone line?

Answer:
While a land based phone line is the most common way for an alarm system to communicate, it is not the only method. Sovereign recommends GSM and Radio monitoring to backup your phone line monitoring.
